Sifu,
Was wondering if you would share with me the training technique most ideal for strengthening the hand fingers to act as a spear? The only exercise I am familiar with and actively do is finger tip push ups. However, either I'm doing it wrong or there is something else I should be doing that will develop the fingers better.

Daniel. Here is what I have learned in the forty years in martial arts training.
First off, thank you for your question.
First thing is structure.
1. Your fingers have to be together and tight. The thumb must be flat against the outside edge of the hand. All fingers and thumb must squeeze together. Making a tight hand. Like a knife.
2. Alinement. When you look down the arm, looking toward your fingers. You should see a straight line from your index finger running up your arm along the radial bone to your elbow. Like an arrow.
3. Once you have accomplished this, get yourself a bucket with a large opening, fill it with soft sand. Begin by thrusting you hands into the sand 100 times a day for a month. After that, it will depend on you and how much time you want to spend on this one activity.
